Description
The interior view of a mall where competing brothels entice customers with a showcase. Courtesans in front of a standing screen (painted with a large bird perched on a pine branch) are dressed in gorgeous kimonos and robes of gloriously colorful fabrics. Each woman has many elaborate hairpins and fancy sashes to add to their stylish fashion. From an original 19th century (1821) woodcut, Zensei kurabe kakuyu no zu, attributed to Morikawa Chikashige.
