Description
Vintage publicity portrait of the actress Madge Bellamy wearing a black satin tricorne hat and wide-cuffed outfit with gold ornaments. Madge was a well known star of silent films but had trouble making the transition to sound. She had the title role in the b&w film 'White Zombie' opposite Bela Lugosi. In 1943 Madge made the headlines by shooting at her rich, married boyfriend. A true child of Texas, she was quoted as saying, "I only winged him, which is what I meant to do. Believe me, I'm a crack shot". From an original 20th century undated Bain News photo. All Rights Reserved © 2013 padre art
